Welcome to Upward Bound Program

Services & Activities
  1. Saturday Academy

Scheduled bimonthly to provide supplemental education that targets the skills needed for successful completion of high school and preparation for college matriculation; teachers and graduate students provide instruction in core subjects, i.e. Composition/Literature, Science, Mathematics, and Foreign Language

  1. Tutorial Services

Scheduled biweekly to maintain steady academic progress (above C level); subjects include English, Science, Mathematics, and Foreign Language

  1. Summer Residential Institute (SRI)

3 or 6 week program that offers a simulated college experience for UB participants; participants enjoy activities with peers and other TRIO programs, live in the residence halls and take classes that prepare them for the upcoming school year

  1. Work Study Program

Students may receive a work study stipend by working in a position created through Upward Bound; placed in assignments that provide exposure to careers that require a postsecondary degree
*Other services/activities include mentoring, college visits, conferences, scholarship opportunities, college bound workshops, job shadowing opportunities, cultural excursions, community service projects, junior/senior seminar, Upward Bound Monthly meetings, Annual Awards Gala, etc.
