What's best about the School of Public Health and Health Services at GW?

The program has knowledgeable professors, great resources, seminars, and classes that are specific to your personal interests. The exercise science department is great because they have three distinct graduate tracks and the professors have vast backgrounds in their field of study. I have learned so much and I have only been here for two months.

What's best about living in the Washington, DC Area?

The resources, museums, and the overall history. The city is upbeat and there is always something to do. The metro is such a great engineering feat, making the entire city easily accessible.

My message to applicants:

Going to school at George Washington University and studying public health is like no other education you can receive in the United States. Being in the center of the nation's capitol allows you the access to all sorts of great contacts and opportunities. The exercise science department is revolutionizing the public health genre; implementing exercise science into the public health umbrella creates not only a more diverse program but also sends a message to "public health" stating that exercise must be a focus for an overall healthier society. George Washington University is cutting edge and is one of the firsts to take this initiative upon themselves, illustrating that George Washington University is a leader and is raising the bar for other universities.

What's best about the School of Public Health and Health Services at GW?

The faculty - everyone is interested in students' professional interests and in the faculty's role in promoting those interests/goals.

What's best about living in the Washington, DC Area?

D.C. is the home of health policy and all of the major government departments related to health promotion. It makes for a very dynamic learning environment for public health students. I enjoy the ease it is to attend conferences, symposiums, or presentations on all topics due to simply being located in Washington D.C.

My message to applicants:

If you want the most dynamic learning experience while studying public health, attend GWU's SPHHS. You will receive instruction from experts within their field and will have tremendous opportunity to become actively engaged with professionals working in your respective public health arena.
