What was best about living in the Washington, DC area?

It is the global center for international health-related careers with many internships, conferences, and professionals easily accessible

My message to applicants:

This is a great school for international health and policy due to its location and expert faculty. The Public Health Student Association is very active, and a great way to get involved to meet friends and faculty.

What was best about the students at SPHHS when I was a student?

Diverse body of students with different interests.

What was best about living in the Washington, DC area?

close to government agencies, think tanks, non profits, etc.

My message to applicants:

The best part of your education may well come from outside the classroom. Take advantage of internships, volunteer work, events at the Society for International Development, the Council for Global Development, the Global Health Council, various think tanks, National Press Club, etc. Ask friends and faculty about events and opportunities. Seriously consider participating in trips and assessments overseas.
