Viral Hepatitis Surveillance and Epidemiology Project

This project focuses on an evaluation and analysis of the viral hepatitis surveillance registry. More than 30,000 cases of viral hepatitis have been reported from 2001-2007 in the District of Columbia. We will conduct an in-depth analysis of these data, examining trends in hepatitis A, B, and C infection by demographic characteristics and geographical location over time. This information will help guide public funds for targeted and appropriate prevention efforts to curb the incidence and prevalence of viral hepatitis in the District.
