Prevention of Events with Angiotensin Converting Enzyme Inhibition (PEACE) - Clinical Trial
Brief Project Description
Sponsor: National Institutes of Health / National Heart, Lung, and Blood Institute
Principal Investigator and Director of the Coordinating Center: Madeline MurguĂa Rice, PhD, MS
(Co-investigator and Deputy Director prior to August 2004)
A multi-center randomized controlled trial to investigate whether the addition of an angiotensin converting enzyme inhibitor to standard therapy in patients with known coronary artery disease and preserved left ventricular function will reduce the occurrence of cardiovascular mortality, non-fatal myocardial infarction, coronary artery bypass graft surgery or percutaneous transluminal coronary angiography. Secondary analyses are examining risk factors for cardiovascular events and other outcomes in this population. For further detail see: http://biostat.bsc.gwu.edu/bsc/studies/peace.html
