Prevention of Environmental Tobacco Smoke (ETS) Exposure in Children Age 0 - 12 Months: The major goal of this project is to conduct a randomized behavioral intervention trial with pregnant African American and Hispanic women to prevent ETS exposure among infants during the first year of life. The four session ETS intervention is compared to a comparable length intervention focused on improving infant development, parent supervision and routines, and reducing home safety hazards, and injuries.

Project sites: Providence Hospital, George Washington University MFA, Chartered Family Health Clinic

Collaborating Organizations: George Washington University Medical Center, Children's National Medical Center, Georgetown University Hospital, Research Triangle Institute, National Center on Minority Health and Health Disparities and the National Institute of Child Health and Human Development (NICHD).
