Panic Disorder, Parenting and Infant Neurobiology; Toddler Anxiety: Temperament/Neurophysiology & Parenting

Brief Project Description

Sponsor: National Institute of Mental Health
Biostatistician: Samuel J. Simmens, PhD
The purpose of these two related longitudinal studies is to test theoretical models concerning the contributions of parental behaviors, environmental stress, child neurophysiological mechanisms, child behavioral reactivity and related variables of increasing difficulties with anxiety in young children. Clarifying the pathways and factors that lead to the development of increasing difficulties with anxiety will provide crucial information for the innovation of intervention strategies.
