Metabolism, Performance and Endurance

Brief Project Description

Lead Investigator: Wayne Miller, PhD
Beginning in the summer of 2005, this project will look at the effects of fasted-state exercise on multiple performance and metabolic measurements in calorie-restricted endurance athletes. The goals of the research are to determine how fat is utilized in endurance exercise performance; how endurance can be enhanced during calorie restriction; how cognitive function is affected during fatigue; and how calorie restriction affects the physiology of exercise.
