Mission & Strategic Objectives

Mission

The mission of the GW HIV/AIDS Institute is to improve the prevention and treatment of HIV/AIDS, both locally and globally, through the expansion of interdisciplinary research and educational activities, and through the promotion of excellence in clinical care and public service.

Strategic Objectives

Research

To expand collaborative, interdisciplinary HIV/AIDS research activities among Institute faculty across departments and partner institutions.

Education

To develop and conduct innovative educational programs for HIV/AIDS professionals.

Clinical Care

To improve the quality of care for persons living with HIV/AIDS through the provision of outstanding clinical services and through collaborative research, education and policy activities.

Public Service

To serve communities affected by HIV/AIDS through the research, education, clinical and service activities of Institute faculty members, and through partnerships with governmental and non-governmental HIV/AIDS organizations.
