- Lecture to second year medical students on Pathology of HIV/AIDS
- Lecture to pathology residents on Pathology of HIV/AIDS
- Lecture to pathology residents on gastrointestinal disease in HIV/AIDS
- Lecture to pathology residents on Ultrastructural pathology of surgical specimens from patients with HIV/AIDS
Current HIV/AIDS Clinical Activities:
- Diagnostic pathology of gastrointestinal specimens (biopsies and resections) from patients with HIV/AIDS
- Perform diagnostic electron microscopy on surgical specimens from patients with HIV/AIDS
Current HIV/AIDS Research Activities:
- Development of human adaptive immune system in cord blood-transplanted mice.
- Effect of HAART on ultrastructure of mitochondria in peripheral blood cells, fat, and skeletal muscle from patients with HIV/AIDS
- Localization of enzyme markers in Pneumocystis jirovecii organisms
- HIV infection and replication by macrophages. Effect of HAART on morphology of mitochondria
