Center for Risk Science and Public Health

Who We Are

The Center for Risk Science and Public Health, a university-chartered center of excellence affiliated with the Department of Environmental and Occupational Health, applies a rigorous, scientific, public health-based approach to the analysis of environmental and occupational health risks. With its expertise in risk assessment methodology and risk communication, the Center is ideally situated to link scientific advances in the many fields relevant to environmental and occupational health with policies that protect public health. Five faculty members and three research staff conduct projects through the Center.

What We Do

Through its research, the Center provides the framework for highly credible and original research, and balanced analysis of available data. The Center's work highlights underlying assumptions and critical research gaps, and communicates with clarity and sensitivity to varied audiences needing risk information.
