Admissions Process
Thank you for your interest in graduate degree and certificate programs at The George Washington University School of Public Health and Health Services (SPHHS), one of the 40 schools of public health accredited by the Council for Education on Public Health (CEPH).
The GW School of Public Health and Health Services (SPHHS) Committee on Admissions invites you to submit your application for admission. Each application is carefully reviewed. The instructions located in the SPHHS Admissions Application detail the required documents you must submit to complete your application for review by the Committee on Admissions. The document "SPHHS Invites You to Apply" will provide you with background information about our admissions process, requirements, and qualifications.

Application Deadlines
The application deadlines listed here are those dates that your application must be submitted to SOPHAS (the national application for CEPH accredited schools) and your SPHHS Secondary Application (the GW SPHHS application) must be postmarked and sent to GW. Please apply as early as possible before the posted deadlines for full scholarship consideration. All of the required admissions documents must be received before your application is considered complete for review.
Spring 2009 application deadline is December 1, 2008
Summer 2009 application deadline is April 15, 2009*
Fall 2009 application deadline is April 15, 2009*
*Apply before February 15 for first round scholarship consideration.
SOPHAS and SPHHS Secondary Application
It is very important that all applicants carefully review the SPHHS Application Instructions and Secondary Application before beginning the application process. All SPHHS applicants will be submitting the SPHHS Secondary Application either before applying through SOPHAS or within two weeks of submitting the SOPHAS application. Only complete applications are reviewed and applying before the SPHHS stated deadlines is preferred, especially for applicants seeking consideration for scholarships.
