The George Washington University School of Public Health and Health
Services (SPHHS)
is pleased to be able to offer a wide array of health law and policy coursework,
graduate certificates, graduate degrees, and continuing education programs
through its Hirsh Health Law and Policy Program.
The Hirsh Program, housed in the Department of Health Policy, is the portal
through which law degree candidates and lawyers enter the health law and
policy pursuits of the School of Public Health and Health Services. These
pursuits focus on topics such as health policy, the health care system and industry, environmental and
occupational health, international health, and prevention and community
health. The program's emphasis is on individualized course planning
and career guidance with students is a hallmark of the program.
As the School strives to become the preeminent School of Public Health
and Health Services for health policy education and research, the training
of law students and lawyers through the Hirsh Program endures as a major
component of its academic mission. In this respect, I am proud of GW's
inclusion in U.S. News & World Report's ranking of leading health
law programs.
I hope you will examine and take advantage of the opportunities described
on this website.
