NEW: Read the Notes from Past Alumni.NEW! First-Ever Hirsh Program Alumni and Student Cocktail ReceptionOn Tuesday, May 16th, 2006, alumni, students, and faculty gathered for the first-ever Hirsh Program cocktail reception. Sara Rosenbaum and Bruce Fried, Chair, of the Department of Health Policy Law and Policy Advisory Committee hosted this event in conjunction with the Medical Center Alumni Office. The group was joined by Dr. Harold and Mrs. Jane Hirsh, principal benefactors and founders of the Hirsh program. At the event, Sara Rosenbaum announced the launch of the Hirsh Summer Fellowship Fund. Beginning in 2007, the Hirsh Health Law and Policy Program of the GWU School of Public Health and Health Services will sponsor one or two Health Law and Policy Public Interest Fellowships each year. Believing that students should not be discouraged from working in public interest positions due to financial reasons, the Hirsh Fellowship Program will provide funding to one or two law-public health degree/certificate candidates who wish to devote a summer to pursue health law and policy-related public interest work. Stay tuned for more information about the fellowship program and how you can contribute to this important fund! |
