When Dr. Leone engages a class, he is always asking himself "what can I offer?" A committed teacher, much of his classroom focus is on imparting the clinical skills essential to athletic training. He has developed innovative tools to support that learning, including Interactive Laboratory for Skin Disorders and Writing the Clinical Case Report: A Practice Guide for Athletic Training Students. "Working with students has allowed me to learn more about myself while giving me an opportunity to impart my own wisdom and professional experience," he says.

Prior to joining SPHHS in 2007, Dr. Leone was a visiting assistant clinical specialist at Northeastern University. Previously, he directed the athletic training education program at Southern Illinois University at Carbondale, where he also taught in the Department of Kinesiology. A certified athletic trainer, Dr. Leone has been recognized in "Who's Who Among American Teachers and Educators," and in the Academic Keys Association's "Who's Who in Education."
