Jerry Franz

Jerry Franz is an Adjunct Instructor in the Department of Prevention and Community Health, in the Public Health Communications and Marketing Program (PHC&M). He also serves as an Adviser for PHC&M students in the first year of their studies, and interacts with prospective students that are seeking more information on this program. Jerry has been affiliated with the Department of Prevention and Community Health since 2007.

Jerry is a career practitioner in health communications and social marketing. He has nearly 35 years of experience in the private and non-profit sectors, working for companies and organizations such as the American Diabetes Association and Porter Novelli, one of the pioneering firms in the area of social marketing. Additionally, as a volunteer, Jerry is the host of an online video podcast series called “Health Matters at Work” which is sponsored by Community Health Charities. He also was appointed in 2011 to serve on the Operations Committee of the National Diabetes Education Program (NDEP), a joint program of the National Institute of Diabetes and Digestive and Kidney Diseases of the National Institutes of Health, and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
