Jerry Franz is a consultant instructor with the Department of Prevention and Community Health.

Jerry Franz is a career communications and marketing professional with 30 years experience in both the private and nonprofit sectors in developing and implementing social marketing and health communications programs. His experience includes serving as Executive Vice President in the health care practice of Porter Novelli International, a leading public relations and social marketing firm, and as National Vice President of Communications for the American Diabetes Association, where he conceived and directed programs in diabetes prevention and obesity, and prevention of secondary complications of diabetes including cardiovascular disease. Currently he is a communications consultant to industry and nonprofits engaged in the areas of diabetes and metabolism, cancer and mental health.
