6110 Executive Blvd., Suite 750 As a post-doctoral trainee in bioinformatics and biostatistics at Texas A&M University, Professor Drews worked with a group of cancer biologists to examine the links between diet and colorectal cancer. Along with the opportunity to develop her statistical skills, that experience taught her to thrive in a team-centered collaborative environment. Recognizing the benefits, she sought similar when she was on the job market again and found it at the SPHHS-affiliated Biostatistics Center, where she is currently involved with a multi-center trial focused on diabetes. Prior to joining SPHHS in 2005, Professor Drews was an instructor at Texas Tech University. As she pursues scholarship at a new institution, she maintains a strong commitment to working in a multidisciplinary environment. "I feel that the work I do makes a contribution to the scientific world and I get real satisfaction when I see all of the pieces come together," she says.
