The Obesity Society, the Strategies to Overcome and Prevent (STOP)
Obesity Alliance at the Department of Health Policy of The George
Washington University School of Public Health and Health Services, and
the National Journal will hold a conference entitled "The Obesity
Challenge: What the Next President Should Do" on Wednesday, September
19, at the Jack Morton Auditorium at The George Washington University in
Washington, DC.

The conference, scheduled from 8:30 am to 3:00 pm, will include
roundtables of presidential campaign health policy advisors for the
major democratic and republican presidential candidates (tentatively
scheduled at 10:00 for the Democrats and 11:00 for the Republicans.)
National Journal's Linda Douglass will moderate the panels, designed to
promote serious discussion of the nation's health and budgetary
challenges due to the growing obesity epidemic. CBO Director Peter
Orszag will address the conference prior to the presidential advisor
roundtables on the costs of obesity. (A detailed scheduled of the
conference will be released Monday September 17).

The conference will be webcast by the Kaiser Foundation on their
healthcare website.

The Jack Morton Auditorium at George Washington University is located
at 808 21st Street NW.

Seating is limited, reservations are required.  If you would like to
