One-Year Administrative Residency Program
Johns Hopkins Bayview Medical Center
The administrative residency program at the Johns Hopkins Bayview Medical Center is an eleven to twelve month program designed for individuals seeking leadership positions in healthcare. The program is conducted as part of a graduate degree program at an accredited university.
The residency program is tailored to meet the needs and interests of individual residents. It is structured to provide experiential learning in acute hospital and long-term care operations with departmental rotations for varying lengths of time over the year. Students participate in hospital operations, meet with leaders of the organization, learn leadership skills, and are involved in at least two organizational wide initiatives over the course of the year.

- Organizational structure and processes
- Strategic planning
- Financial Management
- Clinical services
- Ambulatory services
- Support services
- Nursing services
- Ancillary services
The resident learns administrative and leadership skills such as fostering team cohesion, motivation of staff, creation of an environment of continuous quality improvement, project coordination, effective communication, problem solving, customer service skills/service excellence and project management.

Requirements for Application:
All application materials must be submitted by October 31st. The following are required:
- Cover letter expressing interest in the residency and/or a personal statement
- Resume
- Transcript from current graduate program
- Three letters of recommendation
