As part of The George Washington University site license agreement with the SAS Institute (http://www.sas.com), students are able to install SAS on their home computers at no cost. Please follow the protocol outlined below:
1. Students can borrow SAS DVD installation disks on a first-come, first-serve basis from the reception desk in the Department of Epidemiology and Biostatistics, located at:
2100-W Pennsylvania Avenue, NW
8th Floor
Washington, DC 20037
Phone: 202-994-5330
Fax: 202-994-0082
Hours of licensing are 9:00am - 5:00pm, Monday through Friday.
2. Students are allowed to borrow one installation disk set at a time. Students cannot pass the SAS installation disk to another student.
3. Students will have 24-hours to install the software and return the DVD to 2100-W Pennsylvania Avenue, NW, 8th Floor, with the exception of a Friday check-out. Students checking out a DVD on a Friday may return it the following Monday. If there is an official school holiday or leave, students can return the disk the following operating business day.
4. Please complete the student section in the user agreement form prior to checking out a DVD disk. Please make sure to type all the information in this section of the agreement form - under "Net ID", please list your GWU e-mail; under "Department/Course ID", please make sure to indicate the relevant course number.
6. A new user agreement form must be submitted every time a SAS installation disk is borrowed or the SAS license renewed.
7. In case of technical problems installing SAS please check for installation requirements at: http://support.sas.com/documentation/installcenter/913/hosts/index.html#f
8. The SAS Institute does not support licensing its software for Macs. Students who have Virtual PC, Parallels desktop, or even Boot Camp for their Macs may be able to install PC SAS. SAS is also installed in computer labs around campus including 24-hour computer labs.
