Course Schedules

This page includes up-to-date information on SPHHS course schedules - including days and times classes are offered, instructors, and room locations.

Current Course Schedules

SPHHS updates the course schedule on a regular basis prior to and during the registration period. Updated information is posted immediately by email to the SPHHS Listserv and can also be found here:

Staff in the Office of Student Academic and Career Development Services can answer questions about the course schedule or provide you with the most recent version.

Final Exam Schedule

Undergraduate students should check here for the final exam schedule for the current semester. Graduate students should check course syllabi for final exam dates.

SPHHS Course Locations

The locations of SPHHS courses will be available on the SPHHS Course Schedule (above) approximately one week before the semester starts. Check this site, as well as the SPHHS Listserv, for updates.

The University's Schedule of Classes

The SPHHS Course Schedule is, in many cases, more up-to-date than the University's Schedule of Courses.

  • If you are an undergraduate student in any program or a graduate student in Exercise Science, you should access the University's Schedule of Classes at www.gwu.edu/~schedule/
  • If you are an MPH, MS, MHSA, Certificate, or DrPH student, you should access the most recent course schedule on this site or check the SPHHS Listserv.

Course Descriptions and Prerequisites

For more information about courses, including prerequisites, refer to the undergraduate course descriptions and graduate course descriptions. You are also welcome to stop by the Office of Student Academic and Career Development Services in Ross Hall 221 to review copies of course syllabi from previous semesters. Staff in this office are also happy to put you in touch with the instructor if you have additional questions about a course, or need to inquire about the possibility of getting into a closed course.

Note Regarding "Additional Program Requirements"

The SPHHS Committee on Admissions requires some graduate applicants to enroll in additional courses to broaden their academic backgrounds. These courses are listed on the Acceptance Status and Conditions Form that is a part of the acceptance packet, and do not count toward the total credit hours required for graduation. These courses may include: PubH 171, ExSc 154, ExSc 152, Stat 053, or Acct 051. Do not register for these courses unless you have been required to do so.

Changes to the Course Offerings

Schedule, fee, and staffing changes are usually minimal, but some are inevitable. Accordingly, the University reserves the right to make such changes.

Note for Departments and Faculty

To request additions, deletions, and changes to course schedules, please contact Robin Delk at sphrad@gwumc.edu or 202-994-7769.

Please also contact Robin to request rooms and room changes; she will coordinate this request with Classroom &Teleconferencing Services in Himmelfarb. It is important that all requests go through Robin, so that she can update the SPHHS course schedule to accurately reflect any room changes.

The Classroom & Teleconferencing Services website also has equipment charts that summarize the availability of audiovisual devices and other equipment available in each classroom. For further information or to reserve additional equipment, please call (202) 994-2856 or e-mail classrooms@gwumc.edu.
