PubH 387 - Community Organization, Development, and Advocacy
The Save Lives: Free the Condoms Coalition is a grassroots community partnership that is working to reduce health disparities in the District of Columbia. The Coalition's goal is to increase condom accessibility in the Washington, DC area by encouraging CVS stores to remove the barriers imposed by locking up condoms. The Coalition is an outgrowth of a PubH 387 class project involving students and their professor from The George Washington University School of Public Health and Health Sciences, and involves other community organizations.
As part of their needs assessment, students conducted a survey of CVS stores in the District to determine which were locking up condoms. These maps are a result of this work.
