Community Service Poll

Greetings PHAA Alumni! From the Community Service Committee, we would like to welcome you to take part in choosing a type of community service event, in addition to the Race for the Cure in June, which PHAA could participate in on an annual basis. We've pulled together some ideas throughout the DC metropolitan area which span focus areas and types of opportunities. Since a lot of volunteer opportunities require pre-registration, and can fill up quickly, we thought this would be a great opportunity to establish a relationship with a local organization which would allow ANY alum to participate in, with minimal effort, since the community service committee (CSC) would do all the ground work regarding relationship building, registration, forms, etc.

We request that you choose up to four events, and rank them in order of your preference (#1 your first preference). We recognize that some of these events are planned closely to the June Race for the Cure. In the comment section, we'd like to know if you prefer a spring and fall community service event. From a planning perspective, we may want to consider spacing out the two events to allow for adequate preparation. However, we want to hear from you! Please submit your responses no later than May 10, 2009. We will post the preferred event, and in the case of a tie, we will ask you to choose among those prioritized events.

We are planning to discuss the next steps at the annual meeting May 19, 2009, so we really need your input!
