PHAA's Mission
The George Washington School of Public Health Alumni Association is a volunteer organization that connects SPHHS alumni to their alma mater, provides a voice to alumni and current students, and serves as a liaison among them. PHAA engages its members through networking, and social and professional development events, and there are opportunities to give back through philanthropy and community service.
PHAA's Vision
The goals of the PHAA are to:
- Establish and maintain a strong base of support so that all alumni can participate, contribute, network and benefit from involvement with PHAA, with the larger GW alumni association and with the current student body;
- Institutionalize a solid structure for SPHHS alumni to invest philanthropy and membership;
- Develop opportunities to share and exchange professional experiences among alumni and with current students.
Short-term goals build on this vision with milestones designed to promote the achievement of long-term goals. These include:
- Increasing awareness and programming of the PHAA among current students;
- Increasing awareness and involvement of PHAA among alumni;
- Being receptive of the needs of both the current student body and alumni; and
- Beginning to build a culture of philanthropy and community service among SPHHS alumni.
