Emergency Management Electives
- Enroll in EMED 302
- Attend the GWUH Emergency Management Committee Meeting during your rotation (takes place @ 1 pm on the fourth Monday of every month within the Administration Board Room on the ground floor)
- Complete 12 hours total of Arlington County EMS ride-along, which will be on weekends
- Provide proof of your completion of the ICS courses by the start of your Capstone course during your fourth year (information available on Blackboard)
- Meet with Track Director at the beginning of your EMED 302 rotation to develop Elective Rotation Project:
- How does EM apply to you in the future as an intern, resident, fellow, and/or attending
Additional notes:
- The EMS ride along elective can not be performed prior to having completed the EMED 302 rotation
- Should you perform an away EMED rotation, you are highly encouraged to perform work at your EMED rotation site related to emergency management in addition to their EMED rotation
- The Elective Rotation Project can be done during the MS IV year, if rotating in EMED 302 at GWU during the rotation, if not rotating for EMED 302 then you should meet with the track director before and after your away rotation
- Should you perform a required military rotation, you will be highly encouraged to review the emergency management plan of that facility with the presiding official
