The house staff graduation dinner and end of Academic year celebration was held on June 9 at the Four Seasons Hotel, Washington, DC.
Our departing residents were:
- Dr. Danisha Allen
- Dr. Allen will be doing a fellowship in Cytopathology at Georgetown University, Washington, DC
- Dr. Gregory Beaulieu
- Dr. Beaulieu will be doing a fellowship in Transfusion Medicine/Blood Bank at the National Institutes of Health (NIH), Bethesda, MD
- Dr. Samer Nassif
- Dr. Nassif will be doing a fellowship in Surgical Pathology at George Washington University Medical Center, Washington, DC
- Dr. Jason Schallheim
- Dr. Schallheim will be doing a fellowship in Hematopathology at Oregon Health Sciences University, Portland, OR
- Dr. Oliver Szeto
- Dr. Szeto will be doing a fellowship in Cytopatology at the New York University (NYU), New York, NY
Our departing fellows were:
- Dr. Fatemeh Khedmati (Cytopathology Fellow)
- Dr. Khedmati will be an attending pathologist at Inova Fair Oaks Hospital, Fair Oaks, VA
- Dr. Sejal Patel (Surgical Pathology Fellow)
- Dr. Patel will be an attending pathologist at the Community Mercy Health Partners, Fairfield, OH
The winners of this year awards were:
- Dr. Oliver Szeto: Resident of the Year Award
- Dr. Jyoti Kapil: The Herschel Sidransky Memorial Award
- Dr. Jay Zeck : The Frank Miller Award
