Design, Photography, and Duplication Services

Design

MCCM produces a wide variety of eye-catching materials for our clients. With in-house graphic designers and photographers, we can create event flyers, program brochures, research posters, letterhead, business cards, and invitations at reasonable prices. Additionally, the department can help create artwork for promotional materials, including banners and giveaway items.  Our photography staff is available to create custom photographs especially for your brochure or project. Or, you can choose from our stock library of images from campus and around D.C.  MCCM will also work with appropriate printers to have jobs professionally printed and delivered.

Poster Printing

Whether you need a poster to announce an upcoming event or to showcase your research at a poster presentation at Research Day or another professional conference, we can help! We print full-color posters in house—and we are fast and affordable! Compare our prices to online and local printing services and see just how competitive we are.  The average turnaround time for poster printing is two days.  The following files are acceptable for poster printing:

• PC and MAC: high-resolution TIFF, JPEG, PDF, EPS and PowerPoint
• MAC only: fully collected In-Design

Photography

Our Photography Department offers a wide variety of high-quality photographic services at reasonable prices. Our staff consists of three professional photographers who can capture your special event or create custom images for your publications. Our photography services include the following:

Medical Photography

Our photographers are available from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday to photograph surgical procedures in the operating room, specimens in surgical pathology, and patients in the clinic. We can also photograph patients in our studio for documentation of various medical conditions, such as mole mapping for dermatology patients.

Location Photography

Our staff goes on location to various special events during and after our regular business hours. We photograph luncheons, dinner receptions, guest speakers, press conferences, symposia, annual department group photos, campus buildings, environmental cityscapes, and stock photos for use in promotional materials and on Web sites.

Portraiture

We have walk-in hours on Tuesdays from 8-10 a.m. and on Thursdays from 2-4 p.m. During these times, we shoot digital portraits and application photos. We also photograph head shots of all new faculty, residents, and medical students. If our walk-in hours do not fit your schedule, you can schedule an appointment at a more convenient time.

Digital Imaging

Our high-resolution scanner and photo-quality dye-sublimation printers produce final images that can be used for journal publications and display posters. We scan and save images for use in PowerPoint presentations and on web sites. Final images can be emailed or burned onto a DVD. We also retouch old, damaged photos.

Jobs can be emailed directly to us at medphoto@gwu.edu. Please include your name, phone number, department, method of payment, file name and job specifications.

Duplication

We have the capability to meet all of your duplication and binding needs, right here in house. We offer the following services:

High-Volume Copying

High-volume copying is most effective for syllabi, exams and lecture materials.

Color Copying

We provide 8½" x 11" or 11" x 17" color Xerox copies in paper weights up to 110 lbs index stock.

Binding

We offer saddle stitch, tape or GBC spiral binding.

Other Services

Folding and cutting services are also available.
