The Master Teacher Leadership Development Program provides theories, tools, and methods for teaching
students, faculty, patients, and families; and for leading organizational groups and teams dedicated
to improving patient care delivery.
The concept for the Master Teacher Leadership Development Program was developed and originally
offered at Children’s National Medical Center beginning in 2002. In 2005, the Program moved
to the GW School of Medicine and Health Sciences. To date, 58 medical professionals who practice
and/or teach at GW, Children’s, Georgetown, Howard, Inova Fairfax and the Veterans Administration facilities
have graduated from the Program.
