The "IRB FORUM"
The IRB Forum is our monthly outreach education for the GW research community. Held the third Wednesday of each month from 10-11am, (usually in Ross Hall), we alternate between IRB process and current Biomedical and Social/Behavioral topics. We invite prospective and new GW researchers, faculty, staff, and students to attend all sessons.
* Certificates of attendance, will be available at the each Forum unless otherwise indicated. Attendees will receive one credit hour; two credits can be used in lieu of future CITI training Refresher course requirements.

Walk-in Office Hours
The Office of Human Research (OHR), located in Ross Hall 613, has an open door policy where you may drop in any time between 9am and 4pm, to leave submission paperwork, offer assistance with IRB submissions, or questions about human subjects research at GW. As always, we welcome your calls or emails at any point during your research process.
Appointments
If you would like to discuss your project in more detail, you may request a ½ hour appointment in the OHR between 9am and 5pm. This ensures that we have availability and dedicated time to work with you. Please be sure to bring any study materials you have with you at that time. Send your request to OHR at our main email: ohrirb@gwu.edu.
New to GW?
We offer an "Introduction for New Researchers" training! Monthly training is offered in our office. Sessions will target the basic essentials of submission requirements, administrative processes, and general information for submitting research applications to the OHR/IRB. Please contact our office to set a time for you or your group!
Classroom Outreach Requests:
An OHR representative will visit your classroom and conduct an IRB process or ethics workshop upon request. Please submit requests at least one month in advance if able. This allows time to tailor the outreach to your specific needs. Send requests to ohrirb@gwu.edu, with the subject line "Outreach Request".
Department Visits:
OHR staff are available to visit your GW campus department or specific group to provide a presentation and/or assistance with IRB process, human subject research and ethics topics. Please email advance request to the OHR main email ohrirb@gwu.edu, subject line “Education Request”. Include your name, date, time, department and type of request. We will work with you to create a presentation that best meets the needs of your group. This can be scheduled months in advance, and we will do our best to accommodate all requests.
