The Collaborative IRB Training Initiative (CITI)

The George Washington University believes that a strong training program and documentation of training compliance are two of the most important things we can do to protect human subjects and our institution. Through the Office of Human Research, GWU has partnered with the Collaborative IRB Training Initiative (CITI) to offer customized training to GW researchers through the Human Subjects Research Educational Program.

Investigator training is the standard nationwide and is the leader in the field. The CITI training program is currently used by over 600 other institutions.

Basic training is required for all researchers engaged in human subjects research. Additional modules are offered to those who conduct specific types of human subjects research.
