JEOL JEM-1200EX Transmission Electron Microscope

Transmission electron microscope (TEM) is available 24h to the authorized CMIA users in room 406A. The instrument is covered by service contract and it is well maintained and aligned, to give a stable beam from 60-100kV. Thus, the instrument has served not only biologists but also users from physics and chemistry departments, focusing their research on material science. CMIA also provides with two dark rooms with full capacity for TEM film development and high resolution conventional chemical printing. CMIA provides with training of the new users. Users from biological fields may receive not only training in the basic operation of the equipment, but also in tissue processing adequate for EM studies. CMIA has the necessary infrastructure to provide users for tissue embedding into various resins. Tissue sectioning with Reichert-Jung ULTRACUT E, is also available in the CMIA.

The equipment is also available for fee to external users. For more information please contact CMIA director at anaasp@gwumc.edu.
