GWU Department of Pharmacology & Physiology

Research is a major activity with over 17 ongoing projects. Areas of special emphasis are the Analytical Pharmacology, Cardiovascular Physiology, Drugs of Abuse, Drug Resistance, Genomics/Proteomics, Toxicology, Molecular Oncology and Neuropharmacology/Ion Channels and Transporters. Over $3.0 million in annual expenditures has been awarded to our faculty from extramural agencies including the National Institutes of Health, the National Science Foundation, and the American Heart Association. These projects support 9 predoctoral students, 6 postdoctoral fellows and 6 Research Assistant/Associate professors.
