Olga Dergacheva Olga joined us after receiving her Ph.D. from The Institute For Neurocybernetics Of The Rostov State University, Russia. Olga is one of the newest members of the lab and is currently studying the mechanisms by which orexin alters the activity of parasympathetic cardiac neurons in the brainstem.

Zheng-Gui Huang Zheng-Gui received his Ph.D. degree from the School of Biomedical Sciences, The University of Sydney, Australia in 2003. While in Australia Zheng-Gui studied respiratory function in-vivo. He is furthering his career by examining cardiorespiratory function at a more cellular level, and more specifically is focused on the changes in inhibitory neurotransmission that occur in the cardiorespiratory network in response to hypercapnia.

Xin Wang Xin Wang, post-doctoral fellow, received her D.Phil degree from the University of Oxford, United Kingdom, in 1998. She then worked in the Dept of Anaesthetics, Radcliffe Infirmary, University of Oxford until 2002 before joining us at George Washington University. She has maintained her interest in anesthetics, and is now furthering her career by examining how anesthetics modulate, at presynaptic and postsynaptic sites, the neurotransmission to cardiac vagal neurons in the brainstem. This project is in collaboration with Dr. Michael Andresen, Oregon Health Sciences University, Portland, Oregon.
