Teleconferencing Services
Classroom Services provides state of the art equipment to offer users the highest quality of audio and video conferencing capabilities. Audio and videoconferencing services are available in select rooms in Ross Hall. Videoconferencing is available via both ISDN and IP conferencing capability, and laptops can be attached to the system to accommodate PowerPoint presentations.
Scheduling an Audio Conferencing:
A Polcycom Soundstation is available for audio teleconferencing for use within designated classrooms and conference rooms in the Medical Center. To schedule an audio conference or to reserve the Polycom Soundstation, Classroom Services requires a 14-day advance notice in an effort to ensure availability of the equipment.
Scheduling a Videoconference
To participate in or receive a videoconference, the following information must be provided at the time of scheduling: date, time, and contact information for the GW representative; and logistical details about the host and/or recipient. Classroom Services requires a 14-day advance notice in an effort to ensure broadcast availability of the facility and system compatibility.
Day of the Videoconference
Plan to arrive at least 30 minutes prior the start of your conference to receive equipment operating instructions and a hands-on demonstration from a member of the Classroom Services On-Site Technical Support Team. An AV technician will coordinate the set-up and connection of equipment and will be available during the duration of your videoconference.
Rates and Fees
Fees incurred are based upon the programmatic details specific to your audio or videoconference. Currently, no fees are charged to GWU faculty, staff, and students to use of the audio or videoconferencing services for University business during regular hours of operation (weekdays, 8:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.).
Special arrangements can be made for audio or videoconferencing services outside the normal business hours and will be subject to technical support fees.
