UPCOMING EVENT: The GW Cancer Institute, with Support from the EagleBank Foundation, Hosts the First Annual Survivorship Symposium, Oct 15. - Symposium to focus on Cancer Survivorship Research and Health Disparities

WASHINGTONThe GW Cancer Institute’s Center for the Advancement of Cancer Survivorship, Navigation and Policy (caSNP) with support from the EagleBank Foundation will host the First Annual Symposium on the state of research and clinical care in cancer survivorship. The symposium will examine the needs of more than 12 million cancer survivors in the U.S. who face the challenge of re-entering the world after cancer diagnosis and treatment.

Who:              
The Symposium will feature leaders in the field of cancer survivorship, including:
Kimlin Ashing-Giwa, Ph.D., City of Hope Comprehensive Cancer Center;
Lisa Campbell, Ph.D., East Carolina University;
Craig Earle, M.D., The Ontario Institute for Cancer Research;
Julia Rowland, Ph.D., National Cancer Institute’s (NCI) Office of Cancer Survivorship;
Caroline Huffman, L.C.S.W., M.Ed., The Lance Armstrong Foundation;
Linda Jacobs, Ph.D., R.N., University of Pennsylvania Abramson Cancer Center;
K. Scott Baker, M.D., M.S., The Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center Survivorship Program;
Karen Syrjala, Ph.D., The Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center Survivorship Program.
