Wireless Access @ Himmelfarb
Eligibility
All current GW faculty, staff, and students may use the wireless network at Himmelfarb.
Requirements
- Users must have a GW NetID (username@gwu.edu email address).
- GW NetIDs may be obtained from the GW Help Desk Account Center.
- Users who experience difficulty their GWid may consult these instructions.
- A wireless card installed on your computer - Wireless cards must be IEEE 802.11b compliant.
Access Instructions
- Make sure your computer is receiving and connected to the GWireless network signal. (Your computer may try to connect to other wireless networks).
- Open your web browser, which should take you to a Welcome to GWireless page with links to the login page. If you are not taken to this welcome page, go to http://vpn.gwu.edu
- Login with your NetID username and password.
- A network connect window will pop-up letting you know that you are logged in.
Troubleshooting
Your browser must allow pop-ups in order for you to connect to GWireless. Make sure your pop-up blocker is allowing the network connect window to open. You may need to adjust the settings on your browser to allow pop-ups for the gwu.edu domain.
