Director's Desk
Fines Amnesty
From January 1-January 31, 2003
Start 2003 right! Return all of your
overdue Himmelfarb Library materials
and pay no fines! Help keep the Library's
collection intact and available for
your colleagues.
From January 1 until January 31,
2003, an amnesty will be in effect
for all overdue Himmelfarb Library
materials. No fines will be collected
but we do ask that you drop a can
of food for a local shelter into the
box next to the Circulation Desk.
To return your books and clear your
records, you need to speak to either
Yaser Mushtaq, Circulation Manager,
or Keturah Solomon, Evening Manager,
in person.
Once the amnesty period is over,
the Library will return to its standard
policies for applying and collecting
fines. Go to: http://www.gwumc.edu/library/services/borrowing.cfm
to review Himmelfarb policies and
procedures. To check your own patron
record, go to the Himmelfarb home
page (http://www.gwumc.edu/library),
click on "Catalog & Reserves",
and select the "User Services"
option. Please note that the process
for notifying patrons of overdues
and fines has been streamlined so
that patrons will receive more timely
reminders beginning in February 2003.
Best wishes for a successful year!
Anne Linton, Director, Library
