The Library has recently purchased
an institutional license to BioMedCentral
(BMC), an independent publisher of
online journals and databases. The
subscription includes access to:
- 57 full-text electronic peer-reviewed
medical journals
- 30 full-text electronic peer-reviewed
biological journals
- Clinical trials database
- Meeting abstracts database/journal
supplements
These resources are available from
the University’s gateway page,
http://www.biomedcentral.com/inst/gateway.
In addition, the journal titles are
also available from the Library’s
E-Journals webpage, and the two databases
are linked from the Library’s
Databases/MEDLINE webpage.
The publisher strives to make research
information available as quickly as
possible. Therefore, once an article
has gone through the peer-review process
and been accepted for publication,
both full-text html and pdf versions
of the paper are published online
within a few days, and the article
is indexed in PubMed within a week.
All BMC journal titles are also permanently
archived in PubMedCentral.
