Himmelfarb Health Sciences Library selects new journal titles
based on faculty and student input as well as interlibrary
loan requests. In addition, we build our collection to support
new programs. In 2002, for example, we are adding two journal
titles: Alternative Therapies in Health and Medicine and the
Journal of Alternative and Complementary Medicine to support
the Fund for the Improvement of Postsecondary program on Alternative
Medicine.
All journals meet the criteria of being indexed in one of
the following sources: MEDLINE, PubMed, HealthSTAR, Cumulative
Index to Nursing and Allied Health Literature, or PSYCInfo.
We are also expanding our electronic journal collection, which
currently includes over 500 titles.
Himmelfarb Health Sciences Library remains committed to maintaining
a strong collection and in meeting the needs of faculty and
