Frequently Asked Questions

Q: Where can I open/work on a document in Microsoft Word?

A: Microsoft Office (including Word) is installed on the computers in the Bloedorn Audiovisual Study Center (BAVSC) on the third floor of the library.

Q: How can I find the email address of a student at GW?

A: From the university's home page (http://www.gwu.edu), click on the telephone icon. Scroll down to the email search section and enter the name and status (student, faculty, staff) of the individual.

Q: I can't find the Journal of American Medical Association on the shelves but it shows that you have it.

A: For volumes after 1989, please look up JAMA on the shelves.

Q: I didn't get a notice from the library regarding my late books that's why I am late with my books!

A: Sending notices is a courtesy that Himmelfarb offers its patrons as a reminder. However to do so, we need accurate information on the patron. The responsibility of returning items on-time remains with the patron. To help us remind you, please give the Circulation Desk your e-mail address and update your mailing address with your school's dean office, registrar's office or personnel. By doing the above our records will be up-to-date and we can send you notices about late items.
