Welcome to a new academic year! Himmelfarb Library strives to support the clinical, educational and research needs of the Medical Center community. To that end, we provide: 
- One-on-one orientations with faculty and students to review and identify resources that enhance the curriculum.
- Extensive collections of electronic journals, textbooks, and databases on health care topics including:
- Evidence-based medicine
- Global health
- Clinical images
- Environmental health
- Health policy
- Consultations on:
- Reserves and electronic reserves
- Intellectual property as it relates to classroom and online instruction
- Blackboard
- Accessing resources from off-campus
- Orientations and instruction for specific classes and class sessions with resources and examples geared to the topic at hand.
- Research Guides tailored to specific programs and/or courses.
To schedule an orientation, locate a book on teaching in the clinical setting, or access a specialized database or e-journal, simply: - Use the Library webpage as your base of operations for information resources. It includes links to the Library Catalog, databases, e-journals and e-texts as well as a staff listing, class schedule, and Library policies.
- Call the Reference Desk at 202-994-2850 or send an e-mail to library@gwumc.edu to schedule an orientation, consultation, or special in-class information session.
