Borrowing
GWU faculty, students, and staff can check out books by presenting their GWorld card or GWU Hospital ID at the Circulation Desk. Only GWUMC faculty, students and staff may borrow AV materials.
Collections
Search the Library Catalog to locate both print and electronic resources.
Databases
80+ databases provide access to medical and public health information (MEDLINE or Scopus) to specific study areas (PsycINFO or Global Health)
E-Journals and E-Texts
Over 200 electronic books and 2,400 electronic journals are available from both on- and off-campus locations.
Food and Drink
Food and drinks in modest quantities are allowed in the Library, but not at computers. Drinks must have secure lids.
GWorld
Your GWorld card is needed for entering Ross Hall/Himmelfarb Library, for printing or copying at the Library, and for checking out books and other materials.

Images
Images resources are available for your papers and presentations.
Journals
With the exception of 142 titles still available in the print browsing collection on the first floor of the Library, all other journal titles are now available exclusively in electronic format.
Kaiser Family Foundation News
Headlines from the Kaiser Family Foundation appear on the Library homepage and provide health policy news.
Library Catalog
The Library Catalog is the best tool for figuring out what the Library owns or what the Library has access to. You'll find DVDs, print and electronic books, databases, print and electronic journal information, videos, and software. The Library Catalog includes information on where to find items whether it is a call number or a URL.
Multimedia
MERLOT, HEAL, and MedEdPortal contain information on multimedia educational resources which faculty can use or adapt for their own instruction.
NetID
NetID is a single username (and corresponding password) that gives you access to email (GW Gmail for Students; Colonial Mail for Faculty and Staff), Blackboard, and VPN (GWireless).
Ovid
Ovid provides access to MEDLINE with full-text links and so much more: EBM Reviews: Cochrane Database, ACP Journal Club, DARE, PsycINFO, Health and Psychosocial Instruments (HAPI), and Global Health.
PDA/Handheld Databases and Downloads
PDA information tools are available for you to download to your PDA.

Zygote
One of the many journal subscriptions at the Himmelfarb Library, Zygote is available from 05/01/1998 to present. Remember to check the dates of online availability for any title you want to find online.
