Classroom & Teleconferencing Services

Classroom and Teleconferencing Services is located in the Bloedorn Audiovisual Study Center on the third floor of the Himmelfarb Library. Services include classroom scheduling, audiovisual equipment reservation and coordinating teleconferences. One full time technician and one permanent part-time technician are responsible for providing audiovisual projection equipment and services throughout Ross Hall, Hospital 6th Floor and Himmelfarb Library classrooms on weekdays between 7:30am and 8:00pm. Requests for projection services outside of these hours are subject to technician availability and incur an overtime fee. A variety of equipment is available for loan and must be picked up and returned by the borrower at the Bloedorn Audiovisual Study Center Circulation Desk. There is no charge for equipment loan services. A department fund and account number is required as security for each loan. Audio/video duplication services are also provided for a fee. Classroom Reservations

All room and equipment scheduling for the School of Medicine and Health Sciences and the School of Public Health and Health Services is centralized under the Department of Classroom Services. Locations include Ross Hall, Hospital 6th Floor, and Himmelfarb Library.

All requests should be made using the Classroom Reservation Request Form found at the following URL: inside.gwumc.edu/classroomsvs/requests/ or by calling 202-994-2856. Equipment requests should be made when scheduling a room in order to determine the appropriate room selection and reserve the necessary equipment. The equipment request should be entered in the Comment field of the online form.

Teleconferencing Services

To participate in or receive a video teleconference please contact Classroom and Teleconferencing Services at least 2 weeks before the broadcast for availability of the teleconference center and to test the system compatibility. Fees are incurred based on the teleconference and required equipment.

Audio teleconferencing equipment is also available for use within designated classrooms and conference ooms.
