Himmelfarb Wireless LAN Now Available!

The Library’s wireless LAN is now available on the third floor of Himmelfarb Library. Laptop users can now access the Internet and all web-based resources from the study carrels and rooms on the third floor. In order to use this network, patrons will need to purchase and configure a wireless network card on their laptop. (The library recommends the ORiNOCO IEEE Wireless World PC Card.) General instructions on configuring the card and using the network are available at www.gwumc.edu/library/tutorials/wireless.pdf. A GWMail username and password is required to login to the GWireless page. This page provides direct links to the GW portal, the GW University’s web page, Gelman, and the GWU Medical Center web page. It is also possible to surf the Internet by entering specific URLs to access other, non-GW web sites. Printers and the resources of the BAVSC will not be accessible via the wireless network.
