Bring your computer problems to the library

On Thursday August 13th from 3-5:00 pm a representative from Student Technology Services will be in Himmelfarb Library to resolve your computer issues (laptops, wireless, etc.). Please stop by the Circulation Desk and ask for assistance!

VPN (GWireless) & Himmelfarb E-Resources

VPN (GWireless) users who access Himmelfarb Library's electronic resources may be prompted to login to ALADIN in order to access databases, electronic journals, and electronic textbooks.

Normally, VPN (GWireless) users have direct access to all of Himmelfarb Library’s electronic resources with no additional login. The additional ALADIN login is a short-term situation and Himmelfarb Library staff is working to restore normal access conditions.

To securely login to ALADIN, enter your last name and GWid (G#) and use the drop-down menu to select ‘George Washington’. To determine your GWid, you can login to the GWid website or contact the Library’s Reference Desk at 202-994-2850 or library@gwumc.edu.

Wireless network expanded

As part of a University upgrade, the Himmelfarb Library has tripled the number of wireless access points and improved the speed of the wireless network covering the Library. Patrons will see quicker web page loading and stronger wireless signal strength throughout the Library.

Additional wireless access points are also being installed in Ross Hall, and will be available soon.

Instructions and answers to frequently asked questions on wireless access are available:
