GWemail - Conversion Information
GW's Division of Information Technology is planning to implement a new email system for faculty and staff on Monday, April 4, 2011 . With this conversion, Colonial Mail will be replaced by GWemail, an email platform powered by Google Mail.
To learn more about this conversion including tasks that you need to complete prior to the mail migration and how and when to activate your new GWemail account, please access the FAQs available on the Introduction to GWemail. This FAQ includes both general questions/answers, as well as how to handle specific situations including:
- Is there anything I need to do before the "mail migration?"
- Do I have to "activate" my GWemail account?
- I use GroupWise and forward my Colonial Mail to the GroupWise account. Is there anything different that I will need to do once my email account is migrated?
- Now that I have my account, where do I go?
Thanks for the reminder, I can't wait to try GWemail. I'm reading through the FAQs right now.
While either address will work to receive mail, only the former works to sync your phone with your mail.
