It's Open Access Week!

Himmelfarb Library is celebrating International Open Access Week October 24-30 to raise awareness of open access publishing opportunities for GW faculty, staff and students. Featured events for the week include:

  • Open Access Publishing Forum (Monday, October 24 from 5:30-6:30 PM in Ross 117): Join Steve Ehrmann, Leo Chalupa, Ajit Kumar, Leighton Ku and Anne Linton for a discussion about open access publishing opportunities and issues.
  • Judging Your Impact: Quantifying Research Output (Wednesday, October 26 from 12:00-1:00 PM in Himmelfarb B103): Discover some of the most common ways to quantify the impact of articles, journals and explore the resources offered by the Himmelfarb library that can assist in this analysis.
  • Webinar: NIH Public Access Policy (Friday, October 28 from 12:00-12:30 ONLINE): This 30-minute webinar will provide information on the policy, how to comply, as well as how Himmelfarb Library can support you in this process.
  • Visit the Open Access Week library display in the Himmelfarb entry. Pick up information on publishing in PLoS and BioMed Central and learn more about open access publishing.
  • Don't forget to take the Open Access Week Quiz for a chance to win a gift bag featuring a PLoS t-shirt and Gulliver the Open Access Turtle. Winner will be drawn Friday afternoon, so enter now!
