Faculty Authors Reception, 3/9 2nd Floor
On the afternoon before this year's annual GWUMC Health Sciences Research Day, a reception will be held in Himmelfarb Library to honor George Washington University Medical Center faculty authors who have published in 2008 & 2009. A selection of books published recently by our faculty authors will be on display.

Please note from approximately 3:30 p.m.-6:30 p.m. to allow for set up, the event, and take down, there will be a temporary suspension of quiet study in the area surrounding the 2nd floor tables by the windows. This event does not conflict with any scheduled exam the following day.
Speaker: Dr. Stanley J. Reiser, Clinical Professor of Health Care Sciences and of Health Policy at The George Washington University School of Medicine and Health Sciences, will speak about his 2009 book Technological Medicine the changing world of doctors and patients. The book explores the ways medical innovations exert their influence by discussing a number of selected technologies, including the X-ray, ultrasound, and respirator. Technological Medicine shows us the pros and cons of applying technological solutions to health and illness.
