Description: Existing challenges in health access and information highlight the importance of community involvement in decision making. The Interdisciplinary Student Community-Oriented Prevention Enhancement Service (ISCOPES) program takes a collaborative approach when addressing the health needs of communities in the Washington, D.C. area.

  • "I Speak" commercial from La Clinica

    In 2007, the ISCOPES La Clinica del Pueblo team created a Public Service Announcement to increase awareness of the "I Speak" card – a card that patients with limited English proficiency can use to request a translator when seeking healthcare.  The commercial aired for one year in the Washington, DC, Metropolitan Region.
